Brandon Kinzer of  (Allen, KY held on for the ride and took the $3,000 prize in the 40 lap PPM Race Products sponsored Southern Regional Racing Series feature event at Green Valley Speedway (Glencoe, AL). Kinzer qualified second fastest in his group to secure a second row inside starting position for the feature. On the start of the feature, the #66 of Jake Knowles would take the lead followed by Josh Putnam (#JP19), Ronnie Johnson (#5), Brandon Kinzer (#18) and Anthony Burroughs (#121). The first caution of the night would come on lap 2 for the #57 of Dennis Moncreif (Cedartown, GA). Caution number two would come a few laps later when and ill handling race car would cause Josh Putnam to spin in turn four. Although Putnam would collect his car and get out of the way, the cars running behind Putnam would check up causing a massive pile up of cars. Jay Brinkley (#10), Anthony Burroughs (#121), and Tim Busha (#15) were casualties of the pile up and wouldn’t be able to continue the race. Putnam would be sent to the rear on the restart but would charge back to a 7th place finish.

By Lap 14, Ronnie Johnson (#5) would pass the #66 for the lead when a caution for the M31 of Tony Morris would back the race up to the last completed lap putting RJ back into second. On lap 16, RJ would take the lead from Knowles. Knowles would spin on his own on lap 17 and be sent to the rear. Johnson would check out and all but had the win sewn up when a broken axle would cause him to start quickly falling back in the field. Second running Kinzer would take over the lead and hang on to take the win.

The top 10 feature results:

  1. Brandon Kinzer (Allen, KY)
  2. Robert Gant (Pisgah, AL)
  3. Dwayne Treadwell (Hogansville, GA)
  4. Kelly Hanvey (Cullman, AL)
  5. Ray McElhiney (Pulaski, TN)
  6. Jake Knowles (Tyrone, GA)
  7. Josh Putnam (Florence, AL)
  8. Brian Smith (Sand Rock, AL)
  9. Ronnie Johnson (Chattanooga, GA)
  10. Jacob Grizzle (Blairsville, GA)

Fast qualifier of the night was Jake Knowles (Tyrone, GA) with a 14.59.  Group number one would lock in the two fastest qualifiers, Jake Knowles and Brandon Kinzer, to a starting position for the main event. Josh Putnam (Florence, AL) was fast qualifier in group two (and second fastest overall) followed by Anthony Burroughs (Russellville, AL). The rest of the 25 entrants would run heats to determine their starting positions for the feature.

Winner of heat number one was Ronnie Johnson (Chattanooga, TN) followed by Jay Brinkley (Raus, TN). Tim Busha (Boaz, AL) would take the win in heat number two with Tony Morris (Murfreesboro, TN) in second.

The Southern Regional Racing Series would like to thank Green Valley Speedway for hosting the event, to the fans for supporting the track. Also, to the race teams that participate in our series. For complete results please go to www.southernregionalracingseries.com.
